How does your space drive productivity, collaboration and connectivity?
HWC has been fortunate to experience considerable growth in recent years. This is a testimony to our highly motivated employees and the trust we have earned from our clients. As a design firm, it was important that our new corporate headquarters reflect the manner in which we deliver our projects – open and constant communication, easy flow of information, the opportunity for team members to collaborate and use each other’s ideas, strengths, continuous improvement and a focus on maximum value for our customers.
Some of the direct examples include:
•Four open and functional formal meeting spaces – each of varying size, style and feel – applicable
to the type of interaction needed.
•Additional “huddle spaces” spread throughout the space.
•An open, spacious design library which is both efficient in layout and inviting for collaboration.
•Strategically located plan and file storage spaced throughout the space.
•Offices feature glass walls with doors and ample seating to promote consistent and casual conversations and employee interaction.
•Custom designed family style dining table in our break area punctuates the eating space which also
includes two bar tops and a full kitchen with stunning views.
What is the one thing that is unforgettable when someone walks through your space?
The overall design was done to maximize the views for the most employees from the top floor of the BMO building. The design allows for the breathtaking views not to be impeded.
How does your space tell your company’s story and reflect its brand?
HWC is a company built on openness and trust, with both our employees and our customers. We solve problems by looking at issues from every angle, and thinking outside the circle, as our logo represents.
We wanted a space that told that story. The layout is open, inviting, personal and practical. There are subtle hints of our logo throughout the space that help make the space personal. Yet we have managed to keep the space open, inviting and practical – just like the service HWC provides to its clients.
How does your space engage your employee base?
Simply put, HWC is only as good as its team members. We are all about attracting and retaining talented individuals. This year we were selected as one of the best places to work in Indiana through a program sponsored by the Indiana Chamber. Our new space is a reflection of our company and our culture of treating our employees with respect, providing them the tools to do their jobs and investing in a class A work space that we can all be proud of.
