Halakar Properties, Inc. was formed in May of 2000 to satisfy the need for a client-focused commercial real estate brokerage and consulting firm. After a decade of successful local brokerage, in January 2011, Halakar Properties forged an alliance with the international firm of Newmark Knight Frank, now known as Newmark Grubb Knight Frank. Halakar, which became Newmark Knight Frank Halakar (“NKFH”) partnered with the top international firm for the sole purpose to better serve its growing list of locally based clients that were needing assistance regionally, nationally and internationally. They continue to offer ethical, full-service commercial real estate services including construction services, Property Management, receivership services, development services, investment sales services, global corporate services, consulting and of course commercial real estate tenant and landlord advisory services.

How does your space drive productivity, collaboration and connectivity?

The mostly open concept is designed to allow spontaneous group discussions and exchange of ideas. All colleagues are easily accessible. Additionally, the innovative cafe along the glass allows in natural light and has become a highly desired collaboration space. Our Boardroom is always stocked with soda, ice water and snacks to provide a more open atmosphere during meetings.

What is the one thing that is unforgettable when someone walks through your space?

We feel that our artwork takes center stage by incorporating a mix of nature and abstract design.

How does your space tell your company’s story and reflect its brand?

In early 2015, our employees and brokers gathered together in our Boardroom to discover our values. We wanted to know what we all have in common. These were discovered to be Integrity, Communication, Loyalty, Success, and Camaraderie. Our values are extremely significant to us, to our work, and to our way of life. We strive to acquire top talent who mirror these values and integrate them into their daily work ethic. Three different custom acrylic signs within our space reflect these values and our company logos. We have received numerous compliments from visitors regarding their unique design.

How does your space engage your employee base?

Our soft conference room with its TV, casual seating and stocked beer fridge provides an at-home type atmosphere. We have two small focus rooms for private calls or sensitive issues to be handled without interruption. Fresh fruit and healthy snacks are provided at all times to keep our colleagues energized. Happy and comfortable employees equal a positive work environment!
