How does your space drive productivity, collaboration and connectivity?

Clearly delineated sections for each department foster team productivity, but the open atmosphere keeps disparate groups connected and allows for news of recent successes to travel quickly. Flex seating in the center of our open floor plan encourages people from different areas to “collide to collaborate.” It facilitates face-to-face discussion so no one feels forced to use impersonal channels like email or instant messaging. The completely open coffee and tea bar not only allows everyone to quickly grab whatever form of refreshment they need, but actually provides a great space for impromptu conversations. We also have painted-on dry erase walls all over the office, including inside conference rooms. They have become an absolute necessity for collaborative ideation and concept visualization, and allow each team to share their focus and progress with the rest of the office.

What is the one thing that is unforgettable when someone walks through your space?

The bright, open space really strikes a chord with visitors and employees alike. The floor-to-ceiling windows across the length of the office infuse the space with natural light and vibrant yellow walls contribute to a sense of vivid energy. Most of the office is visible from the entrance, so you’re immediately greeted with an impression of productivity. You can see people at their desks, getting coffee, and having meetings on the sofas - the entire office evokes the feeling of having a space to innovate and collaborate as well as room for ideas to grow.

How does your space tell your company’s story and reflect its brand?

The modern aesthetic reflects our forward-thinking attitude here at Emplify. We’ve created a physical environment that reflects our culture: authentic, passionate, relentlessly innovative, but most of all, focused on giving employees the resources, tools and environment for them to do the best work of their life at Emplify. The space is adaptable, functional, and inspiring - all traits we harness to deliver exceptional value to our customers with our mobile-first audience engagement solution.

How does your space engage your employee base?

Emplify doesn’t feel like a typical office environment, and this empowers employees to think outside the box, from first principles. They have freedom to move around and use whatever space works for them at a given time, whether it’s shooting hoops while taking a call or running a meeting on the outdoor patio. The shared flex seating encourages interdepartmental collaboration - and the shuffleboard (won by the team for overachieving in a recent quarter) fosters a little healthy competition. We used our own mobile technology to poll the office on what they wanted most from the company, and patio furniture won by a landslide. Now, a few weeks later, the patios are warm and inviting spaces that boost vitamin D and positivity. The open concept also ties into our culture of transparency. The executives have offices, but each of them often chooses to work in the common area, contributing to the team mentality.
