How does your space drive productivity, collaboration and connectivity?

There is no doubt the healthcare industry is ripe for disruption. One of the critical assets in our innovation model is LaunchLab, the physical workspace which serves as the engine for ingenuity where people, ideas and opportunity unite to transform health care.

Our space is a deliberate blend of open collaboration areas, convergent meeting rooms, hotel stations and private swing offices, designed to boost productivity amongst large groups, small teams and individuals. The fusion of flexible furniture and tools throughout the space consists of meeting tables with multi-party screen share, nearly 200 feet of white board space, comfortable lounge seating, adjustable-height work stations, rolling interactive touch screens, and garage-style drop chords for convenient access to power.

We built LaunchLab to be configured for any work environment, providing the flexibility to stimulate our innovation ecosystem, while connecting Community Health Network intrapraneurs and external entrepreneurs under one roof.

What is the one thing that is unforgettable when someone walks through your space?

The uniqueness of LaunchLab does not come from a singular “thing”. We use every square foot and interaction to create an environment and overall experience that is truly unforgettable.

The culmination of colors, furniture, technology, activity and people creates an atmosphere that is infectious with positive energy. Innovation is at the center of Community Health Network’s values, and our space provides our employees with the environment, resources and motivation to uphold that value every day.

You won’t see office doors labeled with names and titles. LaunchLab is not about a singular person and neither is our team. We’re about working collectively and relentlessly toward our noble cause of ‘Excellent Care. Simply Delivered.’

How does your space tell your company’s story and reflect its brand?

Our space symbolizes how a concept drawn on a cocktail napkin has transcended into a fledgling innovation company, placing Community Health Network on the innovation map from coast to coast.

When you arrive at LaunchLab, the first thing you’ll likely notice is the vibrant colors that fill our space from floor to open-ceiling. Variations of colors from Community Health Network’s brand palette establish the connection to our parent company, while creating a visual identity of our own. As you walk through our space, you’ll notice hexagon floor tiles symbolic of our six attributes of innovation. The glass walls represent transparency and a clear line of sight toward our vision. Custom-made barn doors embody our humble beginnings, while sliding seamlessly open to a new tomorrow.

We’ve sprinkled subtle nods to our brand’s foundation throughout LaunchLab, ensuring the relentless commitment required to turn an idea into an outcome is never forgotten. Be sure to take a look at the napkins in our space - they’re exact replicas of our original concept drawing.

How does your space engage your employee base?

For Community Health Network employees, we symbolize hope – a mechanism where voices of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds can be heard. LaunchLab is the place where new ideas, big or small, can come to life and revolutionize an industry typically averse to change.

When we conceptualized LaunchLab, we wanted the physical environment to bring employees out of the status-quo mindset, and immerse them in a place where ideas move about organically and freely. LaunchLab’s flexible layout, non-binding work areas and multiple seating options give employees choice and control over how and where they work. Our ambition for LaunchLab is to create a resilient workplace that fosters agility, communication and inclusion, while attracting and retaining the remote-talent of the future.
