The Indiana Chamber of Commerce has been serving the Hoosier business community since 1922. It partners with 25,000 members and investors and represents over four million Hoosiers to achieve its mission of “cultivating a world-class environment which provides economic opportunity and prosperity.”

The organization is the largest, broad-based business advocacy group in the state, representing businesses of all types and sizes throughout Indiana. Their legislative action team is the voice for pro-jobs, pro-economy public policies at the Statehouse and in Congress.

Over the years, the Indiana Chamber has adapted and expanded its core member benefits to better aid Hoosier businesses. Their robust list of publications and conferences provide businesses with the vital information they need to operate. Attorneys and specialists are used as sources to help their customers understand the laws and regulatory environment, thus keeping them on top of their industries and free from litigation.

How does your space drive productivity, collaboration and connectivity?

Our employees work hard to go above and beyond for Indiana Chamber members and visitors and we support their ingenuity and drive with a creative office design that is open, modern and accommodating. Our space is designed to be both visually-pleasing and efficient so our employees can provide the best possible service to our members and enjoy coming to work in such a space every day.

One of the roles of the Indiana Chamber is to convene and organize efforts for and around the Indiana business community. We have numerous meeting spaces and conference rooms that are available for our employees and their guests, complete with video and voice conferencing hardware as well as touch-screen monitors for technology integration.

Our meeting rooms accommodate various meeting types, including smaller rooms for when our associates need to create a personal feeling with visitors, to our striking formal board meeting room, large enough to accommodate more than 25 people. Additionally, the Indiana Chamber hosts many of our education and membership events in our on-site conference center and are able to provide meals for those events through our dedicated conference center kitchen.

Supporting our conference and marketing team is a sizeable workroom outfitted with printers and copiers, storage space and large spaces designed for our teams to efficiently put together materials for the many conferences and events we host throughout the year.

A new cubicle design allows for employees to utilize the standing desk option to encourage movement, creativity and collaboration among teams. Unique cubicle storage includes a moveable filing cabinet and a secure coat closet locker in each space. Each office is personalized by paint colors chosen by the employees in those offices to enhance their own productivity.

In the breakroom, employees may utilize brand new stainless steel appliances with plenty of storage space in dual refrigerators. New flooring, granite countertops and a variety of seating and furniture options allow employees to gather in a bright and airy space to catch up with one another, watch cable television or have a quiet space to reflect while looking out over downtown Indianapolis.

What is the one thing that is unforgettable when someone walks through your space?

The beautiful breakroom would make anyone wish they had such a bright and welcoming space to relax in throughout the day. It is the showpiece of our space. Two brand new large stainless steel refrigerators offer plenty of storage solutions for associates to bring their lunches or healthy snacks. And two microwaves cut down on the time employees wait to warm up their food during busy lunch hours. A large high-top table and comfortable seating is perfect for an informal meeting or to watch television while eating meals. A couch and comfortable chairs with laptop tables enable a different working experience for employees needing a break from their norm. Another refreshing component: We now have a Keurig coffee bar in our lobby!

How does your space tell your company’s story and reflect its brand?

As a convening force in Indiana – bringing together business, community, civic and government leaders on numerous occasions – our variety of meeting spaces and conference center tell the Indiana Chamber’s story: We’re here to serve our members and cultivate an environment where Hoosiers can prosper.

Upon entering the Indiana Chamber lobby, visitors will see the Cornerstone Partners display, which prominently highlights numerous organizations that are critical to our mission and provide a significant investment of time, leadership and resources to the Indiana Chamber.

The deep blue and gold hues that are reflected in the Indiana Chamber’s brand are set against the natural greys and browns of our hardwood flooring and textured wallpaper in the entryway and hallway. And artwork throughout the space was specifically chosen and placed throughout our office to highlight and emphasize Indiana’s government and business history.

How does your space engage your employee base?

Our employees are professionals who deserve the tools they need to do their work as efficiently as possible, cutting down on their frustration and enhancing everyone’s productivity. The Indiana Chamber offers up-to-date technology and support, as well as meeting spaces and working areas that fit a variety of needs.

A near-total space redesign in the first half of 2017 has enabled the Indiana Chamber to continue to enhance our offerings and has energized our employees – who worked around construction for several months – to remain dedicated to our mission.
